BONDAGE!

What springs to mind when you think of BONDAGE?


I won’t judge you by your first thought or two!!


We all know that there are many different forms of bondage (not just the 50 shades variety). Domestic, community, family, forced marriage, bonded work, debt, exploitation...the list is long.


For me, my mind and body was the 'bondage' that drove me to a point of breaking down. It came about as a result of a culmination of many years weathering the perfect storm at work by ignoring a toxic cycle of high pressure deadlines and long hours sitting behind a computer without the tools and knowledge of how best to control or manage it. Note - for brevity of blog this is a simplistic description of a multitude of far more complex inter-related issues.


When I say control or manage 'it', I mean how to control and manage stress and anxiety (rather than the work and my job per-se). And then how to manage and control the physical side effects in my body, such as sleep apnoea, bursitis of the elbow and the grip that anxiety was having on my confidence and decision making.


That was me. In others, the side effects can manifest and show in the form of diabetes or thyroid issues, due to hormonal imbalances caused by constantly living in as state of fight or flight with high levels of cortisol and adrenalin in the body. Some find it impossible to get rid of unhealthy body fat, experience brain fog, memory loss, irritability and anger. As I said, just a few.


Breaking free from the bondage of tension, illness, pain or discomfort in your body and mind is more than possible. Possible regardless of your gender, age, body shape or size. I know, because I’ve broken free from this bondage and perform better than I have ever done before.


I’ve broken free from a toxic form of mental and physical bondage. I now perform better than I have ever done before.

Imagine how wonderful it would feel to bend, twist or reach for something with more ease and greater comfort. It’s liberating.


Imagine also discovering how to control and master your nervous system in a way that reduces stress and anger, improves sleep and digestion.


Imagine thinking more clearly, having more energy and feeling happy. It’ is transformational.


Imagine silencing the negative voice in your head too! Transforming your inner narrative from ‘I can’t…’ to ‘I can…’


From a physical perspective, with regular practice your hips, hamstrings, back, shoulder and neck mobility improves - along with your overall flexibility.
